{March 22, 2009}   Years have passed…

…Since the time I first turned 21. I suppose it’s a double edged sword – it’s good to have grown older and seen more of the world, but it’s also really mind-boggling to see how time really flies, and how 4 years have passed in the blink of an eye. It makes one realise that life is short and if we really want to leave this world at the end of our short time here, looking back with no regrets at the life that we have lived, then we need to start fulfilling the things we want to in life, at a young age, and not wait until it is too late.

I turn 25 this Friday. Just a quarter of a century old. In all optimism, I probably have another 3 quarters left to go, before my final departure. While 75 years seems a long way left to go, I think that when it all plays out, it isn’t that long after all.

On a more lighthearted note after considering the leading of a fulfilling life, we were shopping in Takashimaya yesterday, so I could buy a bag (an overpriced one) that I’d wanted for quite a while, but never got around to buying. In the past, I’d used to buy cheaper bags (rationale, so that I could buy many of them), but after repeated experiences with the insides that tore, and straps that broke, I’d decided that it was much more important to buy stuff of quality, although it may be 10 times the price.

And so, I have gotten myself a nice Longchamp bag – a birthday present to me, from me! I hope it lives up to its reputation of being very durable and long-lasting, although it looks somewhat ‘market-type’ :) He had offered to buy it for me for my birthday, but I declined because I want to give him a harder time choosing my present and showing that he has really put some thought into buying me a gift. HAHA.
