…and animals don’t?

I just attended a talk on cellular health.

And I found out that animals actually possess the ability to produce Vitamin C in their own bodies, but humans don’t, and that’s why we need to take Vitamin C supplements.

But what does Vitamin C actually do?

Heart attacks are one of the top killers in Singapore. Cause? Clogged arteries.

How do arteries get clogged?

With all the activity we do everyday, the stress on our blood vessels and arteries actually creates cracks. And how are they repaired?

(This is the important part)

If vitamin levels in the blood are insufficient, our body uses fat and cholesterol stores to fix the cracks in the artery. Chain reaction, and put two and two together, and over time, the arteries become clogged.

 How to prevent this?

Vitamin C and protein are two of the most effective means of heart attack prevention.

High levels of vitamin C in the blood actually help our body to repair cracks in the arteries, so they don’t have to resort to using fat and cholesterol stores. Prolene and Lysene found in protein actually help to prevent this fat from sticking to the side of the artery walls.

SO therefore, the solution, NUTRILITE VITAMIN C and PROTEIN POWDER to prevent heart attacks.

Ask me. (yes, I shall live till a ripe old age =))

{March 12, 2007}   Stupid is as stupid writes

I do not know what’s wrong with me.

For the past two weeks, I haven’t been able to properly gather information, to form a logically consistent train of thought and write it research paper style.

Which is BAD, considering FYP submission is in just two weeks. And BAD also because it’s a rather hard thing to bear considering I have considered writing as one of my fortes and something I like to do. And it’s also BAD because I do not like the feeling that I am being a liability to people who want a good grade out of it (yes I want one too). ARGH!

What on earth was (is) wrong with me?! Too many distractions or things on my mind?

STOP IT NOW!!!

Money doesn’t make one rich. People have a misconception that if one has a lot of money, one is rich. Work harder, get more money, one is richer. No?

 No.

It’s simple. Why work for money, when one can make money work for you?

Why slog till you’re 60 (now 65, Singapore just increased the retirement age), and then realise your whole life has been wasted working? Where’s the time to enjoy all that “hard earned money”?

The rich don’t work for money. The rich create assets. Why close off your mind to a tool that could give one the time to have a lifestyle (whether it’s to go on holiday, to spend time with loved ones, or simply to give to charity), and not be open minded to have a listen and do some research? No one ever lost out from listening. It’s in the Not listening part that we always tend to lose out.

Some years back, I attended a talk on Service that was really good. And he said something along the lines of “If someone wants to tell you about something that you Think you’re not interested in, just listen. You may waste 15 min, 1/2 hour, perhaps even one hour of your time. But if it turns out to be something good, and you didn’t listen to it, you just wasted a lifetime.” That line has stuck with me till today. It applies to many things in life. Sometimes we’re just too caught up in our comfort zone and we refuse to listen to someone else. But I am open. Open to listen, open to realise that there’s always something for me to learn.

I was listening to a CD, and it said, there are two problems with money. The first, people say, they don’t have enough. The second, people say, they have too much.

Which problem would you rather have?

Take the time to listen, because you never know what you might hear.
