…to the last post of the year two thousand and six.
I haven’t been at the computer much lately, save for some attempts (many in vain) to do my Literature Review for my final year project, but research papers are kind of at the back of one’s mind when it comes to the festive season of eating and partying. Which brings me to the point that it is New Year’s Eve today, which means that the stroke of midnight tonight is completely different from the stroke of midnight last night, and the night before, and the night before that, and every night before that since 2005 became 2006. No, the stroke of midnight tonight marks a transition into a new lease of life, an all new year.
And I speak to friends online and I ask them
“So how are you celebrating the new year?”
And I hear
“Rotting at home”, “Bumming at home”…etc etc.
What is wrong with all you people! It’s the new year!! It’s the time to eat, drink and be merry (Ok, everyday for me is time to eat drink and be merry but humour me for a minute)!
I was intending to dedicate this post to accomplishments and disappointments in the year two thousand and six, but for the life of me I can’t think of what to write, I can’t remember what I accomplished (uh oh), and I do not see the point in immortalizing disappointments because some things are best left forgotten (or an attempt to be forgotten, and definitely not written in black and white).
And so, this post will now become simply a post of transition (plus I wanted the date to show December 31, 2006 =)). On 29 December two days ago, I got a bouquet of three sunflowers and a box of Ferrero Rocher. Pretty flowers, artistic wrapping, and a clever ploy and attempt to make me fat under a sweet veneer of beauty (poo… I am a pig but you will fulfill it in the physical sense soon =P but it’s ok I am not superficial [not That superficial]). Coupled with a sweet poem. xx
It is time to eat.
